Maintaining the pipeline of competitive, driven medical students, residents, and fellows who are educated and trained in our academic centers is one of the tenets of AMP. In order to do this, we make recruitment one of our top priorities. Our Department Chairs and Division Chiefs, as well as Program leaders recognize the importance of reaching out to competitive applicants to build on the continued diversity of our training programs.

​AMP Recruitment Initiatives

• Attending national and regional conferences such as those sponsored by The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and The Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA)
• Hosting panels for succeeding in academic medicine
• Engaging with prospective residency and fellowship applicants and familiarizing them with AMP, CHOP, and Penn
• Partnering with the Graduate Medical Education offices at Penn and CHOP to help with outreach to residency and fellowship applicants
• Fostering mentoring relationships with students across Philadelphia to improve the pathway to academic medicine
• Coordinating the Visiting Clerkship Program​
