Mentorship in Inclusion and Diversity (MIND)

The AMP mentoring families were originated in 2013 as another way to enhance and support our community. The overarching goal is to provide a vertical and horizontal mentoring system so participants can serve as a source of encouragement, be a support network, and contribute to each other's professional development throughout the year.

In 2020, the mentoring families initiative was renamed Mentoring In Inclusion and Diversity (MIND). The goal of MIND is to foster connection and empower participants to succeed in their personal and professional lives. We hold several events throughout the year where we tackle relevant topics for AMP physicians. Participants love having small group discussions, learning from each other, and sharing their experiences.

Past events include:
  • How to be a Mentee/Mentor
  • Meet Your MIND Family
  • Addressing Workplace Bias and Microaggressions
  • Overcoming The Impostor - Leading with Confidence in Academic Medicine
  • Speed Mingling and Mentoring Workshop
  • Work, Life, and Wellness in Academia

We encourage new medical students, housestaff and faculty to join MIND early in the academic year so you can start building longitudinal relationships!
