October 29, 2013 - “Preparing for a Successful Career in Academic Medicine”

AMP hosted our first Professional Development Workshop on October 20th, 2013 focused on careers in academic medicine. Attending Faculty from various clinical and research backgrounds were present to share their experiences as mentees and mentors. Opening presentations were given by Dr. Roy Hamilton (HUP Neurology) and Dr. Virginia Stallings (CHOP Pediatrics), This was followed by a faculty discussion panel with:

Dr. Jennifer Kogan (HUP Medicine)
Dr. Iyalla Peterside (CHOP Neonatology)
Dr. Kristy Weber (HUP Orthopaedic Surgery)
Dr. Lawrence Wells (HUP Orthopaedic Surgery)

The discussion centered on how the faculty initially became interested in academic medicine and strategies employed to succeed in this arena.
