The 2014 annual AMP Housestaff event was once again a success! Held at the Biomedical Research Building and attended by over 70 medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty (including several program directors) the new academic year got off to a great start!
The evening commenced with a social hour where old friendships were rekindled and new friendships were made as attendees of different training levels across the varied UPHS and CHOP departments networked. Among the evening’s special attendees included Dean Larry Jameson, Dean of the Perelman School of Medicine and Executive Vice President for UPHS, Dr. Joseph St. Geme, Physician-in-Chief, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Stephen Ludwig, Designated Institutional Official, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Dr. Eve Higginbotham, Vice Dean for Diversity and Inclusion who all gave opening remarks on the history and growth of AMP. The new AMP executive board members: Paris Butler, George Dalembert, and Barbara Robles were introduced as they shared their vision for the upcoming year. The evening was completed by a housestaff Q&A panel geared toward new housestaff with Drs. George Dalembert (CHOP Pediatrics), Danielle Spragan (HUP General Surgery), Jonathan Nunez (HUP Infectious Diseases), Latoya Luces (PAH OB/GYN), Laura Rubinos (CHOP neonatology), Briana Buckner (HUP Internal Medicine). The AMP veterans shared their experiences and words of wisdom that have helped them excel while at UPHS and CHOP. We hope to see you at future AMP medical student, housestaff, and faculty events! |
