Minds Matter of Philadelphia
In two and a half hour sessions, twenty-four Saturdays a year, mentors have the opportunity to help high-achieving, Philadelphia high school students fulfill their academic pursuits and reach college success. To apply and for more information please visit www.mindsmatterphilly.org/volunteers.

The Food Trust

The Food Trust offers opportunities to volunteer at different farmer's markets around the city, teach summer cooking classes and help with food packing and distribution in order to make healthy food more accessible to our communities. To learn more email bhattachs5@email.chop.edu.

Lanzando Lideres 
As a bilingual community-based program founded on the principles of social equity and social determinants of health, Lanzando Lideres offers an afterschool youth leadership development program for South Philadelphia Latino high school students that includes tutoring, field trips, community service projects, leadership workshops and more to equip students with all they need to become leaders in their own lives and their communities. Homeless Health Initiative (HHI)
People's Emergency Center

Volunteer opportunities at HHI include participating and/or leading adult painting and crafts, knitting lessons (sewers needed), children's arts and crafts, and the Safe Physical Activity and Recreation for Kids (SPARK) program which offers safe physical fitness activities and nutrition education for children and women in need. Penn Human Rights Clinic (PHRC)
PHCR is a medical student-run clinic dedicated to providing psychiatric and physical evaluations of survivors of persecution seeking asylum in the United States. Students and physicians work together to draft medical affidavits supporting asylum cases.

Puentes de Salud

Puentes de Salud is a medical student-led community clinic that offers medical care, education and social services to the Latino immigrant population in South Philadelphia. To learn more please contact volunteer@puentesdesalud.org. 

Cut Hypertension
4409 Chestnut St .
Led by medical student members of the Penn Chapter of Student National Medical Association, (SNMA) volunteers provide blood pressure screenings and information about the risks of hypertension, especially among Black males, every Saturday in a barber shop in the heart of West Philadelphia. For more information reach out to the SNMA community outreach chairs: Olivia Familusi, Aminate Traore or Michael Boateng. 

University City Hospitality Coalition (UCHC)
St Agatha-St James Church
38th & Chestnut St.

UCHC provides services to the homeless in West Philadelphia including a medical clinic staffed by Penn medicine students, housestaff, faculty and pharmacists providing services including acute and emergent care, diabetes and hypertension screening, dermatology consultations, vaccinations, contraceptive options and referrals to social services. United Community Clinic (UCC)
21st Street & Snyder Avenue
UCC is a free clinic led by medical students in conjunction with Penn faculty and housestaff that serves uninsured Indonesian immigrants of Chinese descent. To learn more visit http://www.rightsofthepoor.org/unity-clinic.html.
 
Dance for Health
The Common Place, 58th and Chester Ave - Mondays 6-7pm
Sayre Recreation Center, 58th and Spruce St - Thursdays 5-7pm

With Dance for Health, medical students, nursing students and faculty can join community residents for free fun-filled fitness dance classes to encourage children and their families to increase physical activity.
